Jennings FoundationRichmond Heights Schools Superintendent Renee Willis will step down from that position to become executive director of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation beginning in January.RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Richmond Heights Schools Superintendent Renee Willis will leave her position at year’s end to become the executive director of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, a private foundation committed to supporting public education in Ohio.
Willis will fill the opening that came about in May when the Foundation’s previous executive director, Daniel Keenan, Jr., was placed on indefinite leave after he and nine other men. The arrests came about as a result of the work of a Northeast Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force operation in North Olmsted.
“I am proud of our work in Richmond Heights, as I am in my 10th year as superintendent here. The Board and I are proud that as a governance team we were able to rebuild the public trust, pass an unprecedented levy to build a 21st Century Community Learning Center, partner with the County Library System, create an Aviation Program , win two State Championships in Boys’ Basketball, and this year have a 4-Star High School on the State Report Card .
Her career in public education began more than 30 years ago as a teacher. She later served as a principal in the Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District. Prior to starting work in Richmond Heights, Willis served in senior leadership roles with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, her last position there being chief strategic implementation officer.“It gives me a true sense of pride to know that the board has named Mrs.
