Richardson ISD announced that nine high school students in the district were named National Merit semifinalists.

They are Isabelle Mervicker, Eben Pollack and Abigail Smith of Berkner High School; Elizabeth Craig, Bella Evans, Tanner Kopel and Nicholas Mukherjee of Pearce High School; and Kimberly Donovan and Camryn Dyke of Richardson High School, according to the district.

The achievement places them among 16,000 national semifinalists, a group representing fewer than one percent of all high school seniors nationwide. High school students enter the program by taking the PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.Scholarship money will be awarded in the spring. National Merit Finalists are highly recruited by selective colleges across the nation and are sometimes offered significant and even full-ride scholarships based on their National Merit status, Richardson ISD said on its website..
