Raissa Ricablanca and Nicole Ong took turns as Mapua University defeated San Beda University, 25-21, 26-24, 22-25, 25-13, to keep its Final Four hopes alive in the NCAA Season 99 women's volleyball tournament on Tuesday at FilOil EcoOil Centre.
The Lady Cardinals ended their elimination round campaign with a 6-3 slate to remain in semifinals contention while the Lady Red Spikers fell to 3-6 to close out its campaign.
But the wards of Mapua head coach Aying Esteban made sure to seal it in the fourth with Ong unleashing three blocks to power a massive 8-0 run that allowed them to clinch the match point at 24-11. Mapua's Final Four fate now depends on the result of the game between Arellano and also-ran Jose Rizal University later at 2:30 p.m.
