Ribuan penduduk Los Angeles diarah berpindah akibat hutan terbakar
CAMARILLO: Ribuan penduduk digesa menyelamatkan diri daripada kebakaran hutan yang semakin merebak berhampiran komuniti di Los Angeles.
Kebakaran berskala besar yang semakin di luar kawalan itu juga menyebabkan puluhan rumah musnah dijilat api. Angin kencang telah mengeluarkan bara api sehingga lima kilometer dari lokasi kebakaran di sekitar Camarillo, dengan kebakaran baharu dikesan di lereng bukit, tanah ladang dan kawasan perumahan.
Api makin merebak dan menjulang tinggi sejak Rabu lalu sehingga hari berikutnya yang memusnahkan 8,100 hektar tanah.“Kami cuba mencari tempat yang selamat. Saya pun tidak tahu apa yang perlu dibawa. Saya hanya ada segala-galanya di dalam kereta,” kata seorang penduduk, Erica Preciado kepada penyiar tempatan.Pegawai Jabatan Bomba Daerah Ventura berkata, pihaknya bertungkus-lumus memadamkan kebakaran daripada merebak ke kawasan yang menempatkan 30,000 penduduk.
