Ribuan kaum muda Asia hadiri WYD Lisbon

Orang Muda Katolik Korea bergambar selepas Misa Kudus di Seoul pada Julai 15 sebelum menghadiri WYD di Lisbon. Sekitar 2,500 Orang Muda Katolik Asia, menghadiri Hari Orang Muda Katolik Sedunia di Lisbon, dengan sebahagian besar peserta berasal dari Korea Selatan, Filipina, dan India.Negara-negara Asia lainnya juga mengirimkan delegasi rasmi kecuali Gereja Katolik Myanmar, yang tidak mengirimkan delegasinya kerana krisis pendanaan dan kekacauan politik.

Di Indonesia, sekitar 45 orang dari delegasi rasmi Indonesia dan 53 dari Timor-Leste menyertai kaum muda dari seluruh dunia di WYD.Belia Katolik dari Seoul teruja menyertai ‘Hari-hari di Keuskupankeuskupan’, di Keuskupan Leiria- Fatima, Portugal, dan tidak sabar untuk bertemu dengan Sri Paus Fransiskus.

Tujuan utama program itu adalah untuk mengintegrasikan kaum muda Katolik dari seluruh dunia ke dalam komuniti paroki dari pelbagai keuskupan di negara tersebut, memberi mereka pengetahuan yang lebih baik tentang wilayah yang menyambut mereka, Gereja lokal dan ciri-ciri khususnya.
