Karen Huger's prison release was captured on 'RHOP' and Andy Cohen teased a raw season finale interview about her return home and questions about alcohol
The closing minute of RHOP season 10, episode 16, showed the moment Karen, 62, was released from prison on September 2, 2025, after serving six months on charges including a DUI and a DWI following a March 2024 car accident.
Bravo’s cameras captured the moment Karen left the Montgomery County Detention Center in Maryland last September after serving six months of a one-year prison sentence. The footage showed Karen exiting the facility wearing sunglasses, a scarf around her hair, a white blazer, light blue button-up shirt and blue jeans. Karen was seen entering a vehicle that was awaiting her. Once inside, the Grande Dame of Potomac appeared emotional, taking off her glasses and composing herself, as the car took off. The episode closed with Karen putting her hands together in prayer. Karen will sit down for an exclusive interview with RHOP executive producer and reunion host Andy Cohen in the season 10 finale, set to air on Sunday, February 1. A preview of the season finale shows the moment Karen returns home from prison. In the clip, she can be seen running into the arms of her daughter, Rayvin, who is ecstatic to see her mom. The preview then cuts to Andy, 57, arriving to the Hugers’ home, where he is greeted by Karen’s husband, Ray, 79, before sitting down with Karen.Andy is seen peppering Karen with questions including, “What was your cell like?” and informing her that, “There were viewers that think you that you should not be brought back into this platform.” “Do you think you have an issue with alcohol? Do you consider yourself an alcoholic?” Andy asks in the dramatic teaser. On Sunday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Andy and RHOP star Stacey Rusch teased Karen’s tell-all interview in the finale, with Stacey praising Andy for asking Karen some hard questions. “I was blown away when I watched it, because it was so raw,” the former QVC host said. “Every question that you asked was literally the questions that I had in my mind and I wanted to know.” “I’ve reached out to Karen and we’ve talked about different things, but everything that you talked about were the real, raw questions,” Stacey continued. She concluded, “I applaud her because she was very brave in answering them. And the answers literally knocked me off my feet.” In December 2024, Karen was found guilty on charges of a DUI and DWI, and other charges, following an incident in Potomac, Maryland, earlier that year. She reported to prison after being sentenced in February 2025. “Although we are disappointed in the jury’s verdict, we of course respect their decision and appreciate their time hearing our case,” Karen’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden, told People in a statement at the time. “We continue to reserve Mrs. Huger’s right to an appeal and intend to fully pursue justice on her behalf. We appreciate your support and prayers for Mrs. Huger and her family at this time.” Following her release from prison last September, Karen made an appearance at November's BravoCon 2025 in Las Vegas and will also appear at the RHOP season 10 reunion.
