Real Housewives of Orange County star Vicki Gunvalson, 62, revealed she was hospitalized with a life-threatening infection. “I don’t remember anything,” she said. She ended up having pneumonia-induced sepsis, which is known to cause confusion.Just a few days after Vicki Gunvalson was frolicking the streets of Barcelona, she was hospitalized and unaware of her surroundings.
” Still, she acted “discombobulated” and had trouble walking, Smith said, so he took her back to the hospital, where she was diagnosed with pneumonia-induced sepsis. “She had a massive infection... it was actually sepsis but it was pneumonia,” Smith said. Sepsis is often called blood poisoning, but it’s technically the body’s life-threatening response to a serious infection, often pneumonia or a urinary tract infection, per the National Institutes of Health.
