GILAS Pilipinas head coach Chot Reyes conceded that no one from his team can physically stop NBA superstar Karl-Anthony Towns of the Dominican Republic.
Reyes made this known on Thursday, August 24, in a press conference at the Smart Araneta Coliseum press center, a day before the Filipinos open their FIBA World Cup campaign against the Dominicans at the Philippine Arena, saying that it takes a village to neutralize the Minnesota Timberwolves center.
Japeth Aguilar, one of the Filipinos tasked to contain the three-time NBA All-Star, former Rookie of the Year, and 7-foot Towns, couldn't agree more.'Like coach Chot said, it takes a village to stop him,' said Aguilar, who is to join hands with fellow bigs Kai Sotto, AJ Edu, and June Mar Fajardo in trying to prevent Towns from scoring.'We could find out when the game starts. We could talk about Xs and Os but we'll never know when the game starts.
