Magnolia’s Jade Bubke, shown here earlier this month against Magnolia West, had three hits and mashed a two-run double in the sixth inning Tuesday night at Waller.WALLER — The final stretch of District 19-5A regular season softball wasn’t much fun for the Magnolia Bulldogs.
Entering with just one run scoredover the last 22 innings, the Bulldogs woke up the bats at Waller High School and beat the Mustangs for the second time this season, 11-1, in six innings. Magnolia advances to the Region III-5A tournament where it will be met with a huge challenge — the No. 1-ranked Lake Creek Lions .The series will take place at Texas A&M’s Davis Diamond. Game 1 is Thursday at 6 p.m. while Game 2 is Friday at 6 p.m. Game 3 will follow Game 2 if needed.
“We came out with good energy,” Magnolia West coach Jeremy Collins said. “I thought at the beginning of the game that we were toe-to-toe with them. I’ll just tip my hat to them. They just outplayed us tonight. They hit the ball better than we did. They pitched better than we did. That just sometimes happen.”
