As You Like It is a very silly show — and this production lets itself be silly, scrappy, theatrical and over\u002Dthe\u002Dtop in all the best ways.
Katie Moore’s Touchestone is a fantastic buffoon of a fool, and Charles owns the stage during the fight scenes.
When Rosalind decides to disguise themselves as a man to flee into the woods, the scene where they try out new potential names with their cousin is both hilarious and authentic. Anyone who has ever chosen a new name for themself, or helped a loved one decide, will recognize every beat in that scene.Article content
This production takes a deft hand with audience interaction — using the full theatre space, bringing audience members into the action at exactly the right moments, and getting everybody involved in a gorgeous bit of group singing.
