Review: Fort Worth’s Mimir Chamber Music Festival opens with an enterprising program

Stephen Rose joined Iwasaki, DerHovsepian and Taylor in a committed, capable performance, although the occasional harmony didn’t lock into perfect tune. The first-movement coda was more aggressive than needed, and elsewhere Taylor, usually the most elegant of cellists, was occasionally too prominent in balances.String Quartet, his chamber music is little known. The G minor Piano Quintet is early, dating from an 1890-91 year of study in Berlin.
