The string quartet Brooklyn Rider -- L to R, Colin Jacobsen , Michael Nicolas , Nicholas Cords and Johnny Gandelsman , in concert at Southern Methodist University's Caruth Auditorium on May 6, 2024.The name of the string quartet Brooklyn Rider is a takeoff on the pre-World War I artistic movement called Der Blaue Reiter , led by Wassily Kandinsky and Franz Marc.

The final concert in the 2023-24 Dallas Chamber Music Society series began and ended with standards: Haydn’s Quartet in C major and Schumann’s A minor Quartet .
