Sideshows have become a common sight and sound around the Bay Area. This weekend, they dominated several intersections in San Jose.
At Meridian and Hamilton avenues, fresh tire marks were still visible on the pavement in the Willow Glen section of the city.
"I’m definitely frustrated with sideshows, which is why we’ve been so serious about cracking down on them," said Mayor Matt Mahan. "We’ve seen the numbers come down year-over-year. That doesn’t mean we’re gonna be able to prevent sideshows from every happening. But our commitment to the community is we’re going to respond quickly and forcefully, and hold people accountable," said Mahan.
