The restaurant said that no shows “massively affects a tiny profit margin”

A Merseyside restaurant has shared its frustration after being hit with a number of ‘no shows’ this week.

No-shows and cancellations are one of the biggest issues that restaurants face. It can leave businesses out of pocket if enough people cancel at the last minute or worse, don’t show up without letting the venue know.‘No-show’ customers plague the hospitality industry , leaving empty tables and depriving businesses of paying customers at a time when many restaurants are already struggling due to the cost of living and the ongoing impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The team wrote: “No shows AGAIN!!! - We’re fully booked today with a waiting list and whilst we appreciate the weather is a bit iffy and you may change your mind about coming last minute … but for Pete’s sake please let us know there’s no excuse - 2 No shows in an hour is no good and massively affects a tiny profit margin!

A second wrote: “Take a deposit or card?! Hope you’re doing well anyway” and a third added: “Dreadful think you may have to start taking deposits”.
