She starred in multiple local productions, and she made her international debut with Black Panther. Tributes have been pouring in since the news of legendary actor Connie Chiume 's death broke on Tuesday afternoon. "The Chiume family regrets to inform you of the passing of the international acclaimed award-winning actor Connie Chiume ," read part of the statement.
Hollywood actor Lupita Nyong'o, who starred with Chiume in Black Panther, also joined others in paying their tributes. Actor Sello Maake wrote on his X timeline:"I still can't believe you took your last sleep and checked out so soon. Your soul will be missed by many of us! Till we meet again." She received multiple achievement awards, including the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Royalty Soapie Awards.
Chiume was presented with the Hennessy V.S.O.P Privilège Lifetime Achievement Award at the annual GQ Men of the Year awards.star was also honoured at the Hollywood and African Prestigious Awards and the 16th South African Film and Television Awards .
