John DeLapp / CorrespondentThose who haven’t visited Resoft Park in northern Brazoria County recently should be prepared for a surprise, as the entire greenspace has undergone extensive renovation.
“We’ve put a couple of million dollars into that park over the last few years,” Brazoria County Parks Director Bryan Frazier said, citing improvements to roads and playground equipment and additional parking. Among recent additions is aAside from the infrastructure improvements, the 80-acre park, 349 County Road 281 in Alvin, now has a much larger lake.
“The original lake footprint was about three acres and then we added another four acres on top of it; so we doubled the size of the lake,” Frazier said. “We put in new footbridges, and when we dug the lake out we used the dirt to build a trail system that goes all the way around the perimeter of the park. There’s about three miles of trail in the park now.”
