" got some issues," he said. "I mean, they've put in, you know, the barriers that they've put in. I guess that's good. They have the rumble strip, but I don't think that's really going to help much.” Mitch Shaw with the Utah Department of Transportation said they're looking to work on other safety enhancements.
"We are considering banning trucks of a certain size – a certain length or a certain weight. We are also considering lowering the speed limit through the canyon, and then we're considering doing some improvements to improve site distances," said Shaw."We're going to try to make it safer if we can,” Shaw said. “It can be hard, sometimes impossible, to engineer for people that make really poor decisions behind the wheel.
