SAN ANTONIO - The Alazan-Apache Court's 8-million-dollar expansion project was stopped due to a lack of funding.
“We are not against any sort of improvements, but our stance is that it should not come at the expense of the most vulnerable in society, in the city, and it shouldn't displace San Antonio residents, in particular with the baseball field,” said Megan Navarro, leader of the Robert E. Lee tenants union.
“There are developers downtown, such as Weston Urban that own 60% of downtown, and they're continuing to monopolize and displace low-income residents,” said Navarro. But they did give us a statement saying they stand firmly with residents advocating for affordable housing and believe no family should spend more than 30% of their income on housing.
