Police raced to Greendykes Road in Edinburgh on Thursday, November 2, following reports of a disturbance.
Scots residents have spoken of their shock after a disturbance and alleged shooting took place on a quiet residential street in the capital.
It is still unclear what the full nature of the incident is and cops have confirmed the investigation is at the early stages but nobody was injured. "We have lived here for about three years and there isn't usually trouble. I think it's mostly kids around here that do cause trouble though. There have been a few occasions when a burnt-out car or bike has been left nearby and someone died at the high-rise flats down the road.
They said: "I live in the area and was just off on a walk when I saw a road closed sign and a police van with tape across the street. "I didn't see or hear anything before I left but it is quite scary as I wouldn't associate that sort of behaviour with this area. It is usually quiet and you wouldn't expect that."
A nearby carer who spotted the police cordon on Thursday night added: "I came in and saw all the police and wondered what had happened. I was speaking to friends and they heard there had been a shooting."
