They're not happy
Hundreds of pounds have been raised in a crowdfunding appeal to fight a 600 home housing development on on green fields between Blackburn and Darwen.
The proposal by Persimmon Homes Lancashire would include two, three, four and five bedroom houses. But the scheme has angered local residents and Ewood Tory candidate in Thursday’s local elections Rick Moore. He has launched a GoFundMe appeal to pay for the expert which had raised more than £400 in 48 hours towards a £1,300 target from 19 donors.
“This development is not needed as Blackburn with Darwen Council is already four times over its government house building target. Funds will be used to employ an independent planning consultant to raise an objection to this development on behalf of residents.” “There is a shortfall of 810 secondary school places already. Our hope is that a professional planning consultant will be able to properly highlight all these issues and make the council see sense.”
