Incidents were reported on on Buchanan Street and Hollinshead Street sparking a police appeal
Reports of 'loud bangs' in Chorley have caused concern in the community with residents claiming to have been disturbed by the startling noises.
Officers attended but there was 'no trace of anybody'. Detectives are now carrying out enquiries to establish exactly what has gone on and this afternoon the force issued a statement to reassure the community they have had 'no reports of any injuries or damage to any property or vehicles'.An appeal has been launched to to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious. There continues to be police activity in the area today.
