The relative of a resident at a property in Co Derry disturbed a burglary in progress after the intruder "smashed a window" to enter the home.

They said a number of drawers had been ransacked, with a set of in-ear headphones missing following the burglary.At the time, the resident of the property was at home but didn't realise the noises they heard were an intruder. They were not injured but were left shaken by the incident.Detective Sergeant Moyne said: “The resident of the property was at home watching television at the time, but had not realised that the noises they heard were an intruder.
