On June 8 a resident reported he had been the victim of a scam.
Updated: Jun. 14, 2024, 11:27 a.m. He was on his computer when it froze, and a screen appeared saying he needed to call a phone number to have the virus removed and his computer fixed. He called the number, and a woman remotely logged into his computer. They fixed his computer, and then told him he needed to send a check for $600 and $3,996 to an address in Delaware, which he did. After discussing the incident with other family members, he learned that he had most likely been scammed.
