Deadline is reporting that Netflix's Resident Evil series has been canceled after its first season this past July.

The eight-episode series received a mixed reception from series fans and the general public, releasing to a 27% audience approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The show premiered with 72.7 million hours viewed in the first week — making it the second most watched series that week behind. It fell to third place in its second week, then dropped out of the top 10 by week three.executive producer Andrew Dabb, who served as showrunner, writer, and executive producer on the series.
