Crews worked through the night in Marguerite to find Elizabeth Pollard, 64
A search is underway for a missing Pennsylvania woman who may have fallen into a 30-foot-deep sinkhole.while looking for her lost cat, saying a crumbling old coal mine was complicating efforts and endangering workers.
Rescuers had been using water to break down clay and dirt to remove it from the mine, but that action was making conditions dangerous "for potential other mine subsidence to take place," he said.On Tuesday, they lowered a pole camera with a sensitive listening device into the hole, but it detected nothing. A camera lowered into the hole showed what could be a shoe about 30 feet below the surface, Limani said.Pollard's family called police at about 1 a.m.
"We are pretty confident we are in the right place. We're hoping there is still a void she could be in," Pleasant Valley Fire Chief John Bacha told Triblive.
