Republican officials in one Arizona county said Monday they will not certify the 2022 election results that have Democrats winning races for governor, US Senate and other statewide offices — setting up a showdown with the Democratic secretary of state and governor-elect, who vowed to sue if the deadline was missed.

Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, who defeated Republican Kari Lake in the gubernatorial race, said her office will sue.
Mark Finchem, the Republican running for Arizona secretary of state, has not conceded defeat in the 2022 election.State Elections Director Kori Lorick sent a letter to the country supervisors last week warning that their claims have emerged from “baseless conspiracies.”
