Republicans criticize the Biden administration for not flagging their first report on the Chinese balloon as urgent.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - Republicans are criticizing the Biden administration for not flagging their first report on the Chinese balloon as urgent.
Rubio pointed out the administration knew the balloon was going to enter U.S. airspace at least two days before it happened, but did not stop it. According to military and intelligence officials, “the Defense Intelligence Agency sent an internal report about a foreign object headed towards the U.S. a day before the balloon flew over Alaska.”
Alaska’s senior senator, Lisa Murkowski responded. “The fact of the matter is Alaska is the first line of defense for America, right? If you’re going to have Russia coming at you, if you’re going to have China coming at you, we know exactly how they come. They come up and they go over Alaska. Sometimes they go on the top.
