Subscribers: Republicans backing lawsuit to end early voting in Arizona have history of voting early
Arizona voters overwhelmingly choose to vote early, and so have the chief proponents of a Republican-backed lawsuit seeking to end the practice in the Grand Canyon State.
“The vast majority of voters in Arizona vote early, including many of those who are attacking the system that has been in place for decades," Hobbs, who is the defendant in the lawsuit, said in a statement to The Arizona Republic. "Their sole purpose seems to be to create more partisan divisions, and to perpetuate the false narrative that elections can be either secure or accessible.”
Cahill has returned her ballot by mail each cycle, including the 2020 primary and general election in November, according to the voter records. In a statement, Lake revived baseless claims that the 2020 election was stolen from Trump. Just as Trump did two years ago, Lake blamed mail-in voting, without providing evidence.Democrat Joe Biden won Arizona by about 10,000 votes, a victory that the state Senate's partisan ballot review affirmed. Nearly 90% of Arizonans cast a ballot they'd received in the mail that election cycle, even in the face of Trump's false flags.
Maricopa County records obtained via a separate request show if someone returned their ballot by mail.
