Unfortunately for GOP poohbahs, Trump’s base — perhaps 25% of the overall electorate — is a cult devoted to him personally, not the broader Republican party.it’s hard to imagine that either they or their idol would graciously accept his losing the nomination. Far easier to envision an enraged Trump calling the process “rigged”, venomously attacking the winner, and inciting his supporters to join him in burning down the house.But Republicans who should have known better created this Frankenstein.
