Gunfire was reported just after 2 a.m. near the corner of Bayview and Lawrence avenues in Toronto, which was later confirmed to be near the home of Drake, whose birth name is Aubrey Drake Graham. The Toronto-based TV Station reported that patrol cars could be seen outside the rapper's mansion Tuesday morning after the shooting.
Police confirmed in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that a suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, but didn't provide a description of the shooter or the car. Police confirmed to City News Toronto that Drake himself was not the person shot during the incident. He is reportedly cooperating with police investigating the matter.
