71 per cent of women play games on their smartphones, compared to 59 per cent of men.

Seven in ten women say that they play games on their smartphones, according to the YouGov Gaming & Esports Report 2023 report, conducted among more than 19,000 respondents across 18 different countries. Some 71% of women play games on their smartphones, compared to 59% of men.

Women gamers are also more comfortable on their tablets at 26% compared to 21% of men. Men still outnumber women when it comes to computer-based gaming and console gaming . They're also more likely to use PCs designed especially for gaming . Mobile gaming has become an important market in the video gaming world. While women are in the majority when it comes to playing games on smartphones, the phone stands out as the most popular device among gamers. According to the study, 64% of gamers cite their smartphone as the device most used to play, followed by computers at 40%, consoles at 34% and tablets at 23%.

Plus, the smartphone is favored by gamers of all ages, even if 45-to-54 year olds lead the way, followed by 35-to-44 and 18-to-24 year olds. Younger people are more likely to play video games on a computer. Note that 18-to-24 year olds play video games more often than they spend time watching TV, at 9.8 hours versus 5.9 hours, according to the report. This proportion is even more significant among men aged 18 to 24, with 10.9 hours spent playing games versus 6.4 hours spent watching TV. – AFP Relaxnews
