Report: Postmaster General Plans Even Bigger USPS Changes Post-Election

Postmaster General Louis DeJoy is preparing to make sweeping changes to the U.S. Postal Service after the election that go further than the ones he’s already implemented that have sparked widespread mail delays, according to a report

“They go directly to the heart of what Democrats have been saying this postmaster general wants to do to the Postal Service,” a source familiar with the post-election changes told theSen. Thomas R. Carper ’s office told thethat DeJoy did not mention the reported plans to him and Sen. Gary Peters in a recent meeting when asked about his post-election plans.

“Make no mistake, if these reckless policies are implemented it will undermine this American institution and hurt seniors, rural communities, small businesses and households that lack access to broadband the most,” Carper said in a statement about theAfter weeks of congressional Democrats sharply criticizing DeJoy and calling for his resignation, the postmaster general will appear before Congress in the coming days.
