“If a person is found to have committed such as offence, MBSJ can issue a compound to the offender with a maximum fine of RM300,” said Subang Jaya mayor Datuk Johary Anuar.
“There are limited parking spaces at certain stratified residential properties or high-rise buildings. So some residents resort to placing obstructions on public parking bays to book spots for their vehicles,” explained Johary.
“Our enforcement officers patrol commercial areas daily to check on obstructions placed on public parking bays,” he said. Johary said based on the number of public complaints lodged, MBSJ would conduct a similar operation in Puchong Permai this year. “Those that are not painted red are meant for the public, and there should not be any obstructions placed there,” he said.“This is not only to check on vehicles that do not pay parking fees, but also to check for obstructions at public parking spaces, especially during peak hours.”
