Jonathan Sutherland is scheduled to visit with Denver on Monday.
A former Seattle Seahawks safety could soon be on the opposing sideline for the team’s regular season opener. According to a report from reporter Mike Klis, Jonathan Sutherland is reportedly heading to the Denver Broncos for a Monday workout. Sutherland was let go by the Seahawks late last week after the team brought back 2019 second-round pick Marquise Blair.
Prior to his release, Sutherland was thought as someone with the potential to make the 53-man roster as extra safety depth, but obviously the Seahawks thought differently under this new coaching staff. Much like the Seahawks, the Broncos moved on from their own highly paid safety in the offseason. Four-time All-Pro selection Justin Simmons was cut with a year remaining on his contract and is surprisingly still a free agent a week into training camp. Denver re-signed starter P.J.
