While virtual reality headsets faced shortages due to the coronavirus, the highly anticipated VR-onlystill managed to draw in 860,000 players—decent numbers for a big budget game but massive for the small VR market. Spending increased 15% year-over-year for mobile games despite stay-at-home orders and premium console and PC revenue—games more popular in North America and Europe—jumped 64% from February.It's not too surprising that March ended up the best month for digital gaming by SuperData's estimation. As school closures occured and stay-at-home orders were put in place in the U.S., gaming started to see record levels of engagement.
