The free exhibit will be open in Kyle through 2 p.m. Sunday.
Visitors look for names on “The Wall That Heals” exhibit at Lake Kyle Park in Kyle on Friday. Sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, the exhibit is a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., along with a mobile education center. The traveling exhibit honors the more than 3 million Americans who served in the U.S. armed forces in the Vietnam War and bears the names of the 58,281 men and women who were killed while serving in Vietnam.
The traveling exhibit, which includes a mobile education center, is sponsored by the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund. Since 1996, the exhibit has traveled to more than 700 cities and towns.Grand jury declines to indict San Marcos officers in fatal shooting of ex-cop The names of the more than 58,000 U.S. service members who died in Vietnam are engraved onto the stone. Visitors are encouraged to use paper to do “name rubbings” of the service members listed on the wall.
