Kota Kinabalu: Major repair works for the broken pavements on the back streets of the Sinsuran Shopping Complex here will be completed before the end of the year.
Api-Api Assemblywoman Datuk Christina Liew gave the assurance after a site inspection to view the progress of works, where she was briefed by the Project Manager C.W. Wong on Friday.“The repair works involve the five back streets of five blocks of shop lots. The project entails removing all the damaged pavements and constructing concrete slabs with a layer of concrete floor imprint for the new pavements.
Aimed at providing environmentally friendly solar lights, the project successfully enhanced the community with safety and night visibility while promoting sustainable energy solutions.“Many places used to be pitch dark are now well-lit and the communities could do their activities such as studying and working after dusk,” said the members.
The initiative marked the beginning of a brighter greener future for Kampung Namaatan and served as a testament to the power of community collaboration, they said.
