Representative Steve Womack (R-AR) expressed his strong opposition to a government shutdown, arguing that it would have detrimental consequences for the newly elected Republican majorities in Congress and the incoming President-elect Donald Trump. Womack emphasized the importance of government functionality and warned about the negative impact a shutdown would have on everyday Americans.

Representative Steve Womack claimed Thursday on “CNN News Central” that shutting the government “would be disastrous” to both the new Republican majorities in the House and the Senate and incoming President-elect Donald Trump .

Womack said, “Shutting the government down is counterintuitive to anything that I believe. I’m a former mayor, so you know, government is made to work. And like I said earlier when people say or advocate for a government shutdown, they are ignoring the absolute results of that. ” Watch Live: Charlie Kirk, Steve Bannon, Donald Trump Jr, and More at Day 1 of Turning Point’s Americafest 2024Marlow on Kudlow: Luigi Mangione ‘Was Never Denied Care from Anyone’Bill Clinton’s Memoir Attacks Peter Schweizer, Tries to Spin Hillary’s Russian Uranium Deal
