Alabama Congressman Shomari Figures returned to Mobile for a ceremonial swearing-in.

The representative has said that one of the top items on his agenda is addressing the state’s health care crisis — that includes focusing on passing federal legislation to help re-incentivize Alabama to expand Medicaid. Recently, Figures was named to serve on two committees -- the House Transportation and Infrastructure and the House Agriculture Committee. He is the only member of the Alabama congressional delegation named to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and is one of two from the state on the Agriculture Committee.
