The committee held the hearing to examine the alleged misuse of federal funds intended for Minnesota social services and Medicaid programs. South Carolina GOP Rep. Nancy Mace said Wednesday she would not support boots on the ground in Iran following a briefing. “Just walked out of a House Armed Services briefing on Iran,” Mace wrote on X. “Let me repeat: I will not support troops on the ground in Iran, even more so after this briefing.” Last month, Israel and the U.S. conducted joint strikes on Iran due to concerns that the country had missiles. Iran retaliated and other countries were hit as a result, resulting in some American soldiers being killed and others injured.Fifty-five percent of the Americans polled said they don’t support troops going to Iran and seven percent say they do support it.“The justifications presented to the American public for the war in Iran were not the same military objectives we were briefed on today in the House Armed Services Committee,” Mace said. “This gap is deeply troubling.
