U.S. Rep. Marc Veasey, D-Fort Worth, predicted the vice president will be given a 'smooth, clean handoff' as the Democrats' nominee for president.

He downplayed the prospect of opposition to Harris and the logistical challenges of making a switch at this stage of the campaign.Veasey said he’s confident Harris will pick a running mate who will represent the party well. Veasey said he plans to attend next month’s Democratic convention in Chicago, and predicted it will prove superior to the RNC.

“You haven’t seen excitement, you haven’t seen fun, you haven’t seen people pumped up until you see the Democratic National Convention 2024 in Chicago,” Veasey said., Washington correspondent.
