REA Group senior economist Eleanor Creagh warns the rental crisis has “no end in sight” at the moment with rental vacancy rates hitting a fresh record low in August. The national rental vacancy rate fell to just 1.1 per cent. Ms Creagh said the strong rental price increases are set to continue as vacancies remain at low levels. “Some really tough conditions in the rental market at the moment,” Ms Creagh told Sky News Australia. “We’ve got very strong demand to rent, demand to rent remains much higher than pre-pandemic levels, really bolstered as well by that resurgence in population growth.” In partnership with realestate.com.au
