Reddit thread remembers North Star Mall's basement lair and its underground arcade
In the 1980s, it was more than that. The mall's basement used to house a sporting goods store that included a batting cage and a tennis court. Before that, there was an arcade. A Reddit post helped rekindle memories of the mall's underground past when a Redditor asked if there was an unused ice rink or skating rink used for storage in the basement.
"There's a hallway across from the Starbucks that leads to a cargo elevator," user taketimeandfind commented on the post."If you go down there you can see the basement that used to be Oshmans. There are still neon signs that aren't used up for the different departments of Oshmans."
