SINGAPORE (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): The family of a young Malaysian chef who was badly injured in a road accident in Singapore is raising funds to cover his hefty hospital bills, which have ballooned to S$125,000.
MELAKA: A 33-year-old religious school teacher was fined a total of RM12,000 by the Magistrate's Court in Ayer Keroh here for three offences of cheating two women into sex and in possession of pornographic images in his mobile phone.
Based on the charge sheet for two of the offences, the accused had fleeced two women, aged 19 and 33, by offering them loans totalling RM300 and RM2,000 respectively. The offences were committed at separate locations. The first one took place at a hotel in Jalan PM4, Plaza Mahkota at 12.40am on March 21, and the second at Jalan Tebing Tinggi, Bukit Baru at 11am on Oct 1.
In the third charge, Ahmad Saifullah was found to have been in possession of seven pornographic materials stored in his mobile phone at a tahfiz school at KM11, Solok Gaung, Bukit Lintang in Melaka Tengah district at 1.50pm on Oct 3.
