Rishi Sunak has announced a move to ban the XL Bully following a series of vicious dog attacks Animal rescue charities that continue to rehome XL Bullies despite in incoming ban on the breed are at risk of being sued if the dogs go on to attack someone.

With more and more XL Bullies being abandoned, rescue charities including the RSPCA, Battersea and Blue Cross say they will continue to rehome them with appropriate owners until the new legislation comes into effect.Dog’s Trust has launched an investigation into the death of the woman in Norfolk but said that the animal it rehomed had shown “no signs of aggression”, adding that the victim had experience of looking after large breed dogs.
There are no official figures on the number of XL Bullies currently in the UK but experts believe it to be in the thousands.
