Check out the newest murals in the Coffee County seat.
Michelle Mann ELBA – “A reflection of the spirt of Elba through art,” is the way Laurie Chapman describes the new murals on both sides of the gateway to the Coffee County seat created by renowned Dothan artist Wes Hardin.
Restoration 154 Inc. is a nonprofit started in Elba with the goal of bringing people together through projects to positively impact and build the city. Its name was inspired by the 154-mile-long Pea River, which passes through downtown Elba. Hardin conducted a visioning workshop with the community after the Restoration 154 volunteers got approval from the city council to proceed with the idea. “Wes Hardin did the project in record time to make all of our grant deadline dreams come true,” said Chapman.
Phase II was completed in October and features an ecological theme that highlights the Pea River’s native species, said Chapman. This section features a river otter, turtle, bird, various species of fish, ducks, ferns, and flowers, illustrating the natural beauty surrounding Elba.
