“The hope is that we can do something longer than that,” McDaniels said in March after the Raiders franchise-tagged Jacobs. “I mean, that makes sense for everybody. If we can do that, that would be my hope as a coach. Look, when you have a player like him, he’s a difference-maker and clearly led the league in rushing last year and did a really good job for our team. So, I don’t really know how the rest of the league values those things.
