Police received multiple calls about a naked teen, covered in blood, running in the 1000 block of Ardmore Circle. The callers also told police they had seen the boy beating a dog with a flagpole.
A 15-year-old Redlands boy was arrested Thursday on suspicion of beating to death his dog with a stolen flagpole while allegedly under the influence of magic mushrooms orFrankie the dog died at the scene. The suspect stole the flagpole from a neighbor’s home, Carl Baker, city spokesman, said.
Police received multiple calls at 3:58 a.m. about a naked teen, covered in blood, running in the 1000 block of Ardmore Circle, Baker said.Officers spotted the teen running toward his home and detained him. “Inside the home they located a small white dog that had been beaten to death and the flagpole,” Baker said.
Police determined the teen was under the influence of a hallucinogenic drug. Officers arrested him on suspicion of animal cruelty, Baker said. He was taken to a hospital where he was evaluated. Police then took him to juvenile hall.
