Families in the Dublin City Schools District can get more information on plans to redraw attendance boundaries for eight elementary and middle schools during an
online meeting Tuesday night. Dublin City Schools says it began the current school year with a record 17,000 students as it prepares to open the new Bishop Elementary School, its 15th elementary building.
“As part of planning for Bishop Elementary, Dublin City Schools needs to redistrict elementary and middle school boundaries,” the district’s website states. “Redistricting will focus on incorporating the new building, balancing existing student populations, and accommodating future enrollment growth.”The district says it’s considering a variety factors including: enrollment patterns, growth projections, walking accessibility in neighborhoods, school feeder patterns, and fiscal responsibility.
Students who are assigned a new school will not be given the option to stay at their current one regardless of grade level or siblings. Families can speak about the plans during a public meeting scheduled for Monday, October 21st at 7 p.m. at Dublin Jerome High School, along with a final opportunityNew school boundaries could be published as soon as January 2025 with the goal of implementing them for the 2025-2026 school year.
