MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Eastern Visayas on Saturday said it is verifying the reported presence of red worms in Leyte’s Ormoc Bay, as claimed in a now-viral video circulating online.
According to the agency, a video showed “red worms or aquatic organisms” purportedly swimming in Ormoc Bay. A netizen asked: “Ano ito, uod o alien ?”The video, posted on May 5 on the “Go Leyte” Facebook page, has so far garnered more than 6,800 views. DENR Eastern Visayas Regional Public Affairs Officer Rowena Opiniano said that “they already saw and [are] now checking the viral video.”
